One month later and I’m home. So much to be thankful for on this trip. Here’s just a few thank you’s and a few more pics worthy of note in no particular order. I’ve met so many amazing people doing amazing things who’ve given me so much kindness and inspiration and so much to think about and stories to tell for a long time to come. Cantar Peru! Merci to my Canadian buddies from Quebec, Marie and Lydia for taking the long walk with me to the Temple of the Moon

The flag of Cusco on the left is almost the same as what we recognize as the gay pride flag (Cusco flag has that seventh light blue stripe) and causes a lot of visiting gringos to inquire about it. Cusco was the center of the Inca empire at one time before the Spanish came and a feature of Inca emblems and banners was the rainbow usually arching between the mouths of various animals. The rainbow is now an echo from the past and a symbol of Cusco’s proud heritage.

Gracias LLI housemates Tijana (Australia), Elle (St. Louis) and Crystal (Canada). This taxi ride in Lima was the best. The driver had on late 70’s early 80’s hits and we were all singing along with the windows down on a gorgeous Peruvian evening

Gracias LLI housemate Naomi (Massachusettes) and giant Jenga on a rooftop bar in Lima with her and a bunch of others

Gracias Pippa (New Zealand) For exploring Cusco with me. For sharing pisco sours and ceviche. For showing me how to eat grenadillas on that park bench. For long walks and longer talks and being one of the best friends I made on the whole trip.

Gracias LLI Housemates Nyasha (Zimbabwe) and Karen (South Korea) for my last night in Peru. We went to dinner and then to an all-night dance club and boogied til dawn. I went straight from the club at 5am to grab my bags and to the airport to catch an early plane where I promptly fell asleep as I sailed north back over the Andes towards home.

Gracias Peru
